Our Story...
Brandon met Carrie briefly in May of 2005. She was attending summer school in Hawaii and living at the Atherton YMCA. Brandon visited there one evening, hoping to catch a few friends who might be awake. Little did he know that God had a plan for that evening. The only person awake was Miguel Hernandez, who had befriended Carrie and Hillary. Miguel introduced them and set in motion the beginning of their journey together.
Weeks
passed and they didn’t see each other. In fact, it wasn’t
until June 25th that they
talked again. On the second night of the Greg Laurie Harvest Crusade
in Waikiki, where he was a new-Christian counselor, Brandon casually
glanced back into the rows of people to find none other than Carrie
and Hillary. They met up after the show that night and the next day,
the three of them went snorkeling. For nearly every day until she left,
they were together. She left with neither of them being sure of their
future but both wanting more than a friendship.
They spoke every day in the weeks following. Brandon had already made plans to fly to Colorado in July to teach at a Bible camp for two weeks. Carrie wouldn’t be coming back down to southern California until the 7th. He had to leave on the 18th, so they spent as much time together as possible. He went with her up to Mammoth to meet her parents. That night they decided that they wanted to be “officially” dating.
